This textbook will be continually updated as new data comes in. This page tracks the changes made since the first official release.

The first official release (version 1.0) was in July 2022.

In 2023, routine updates to climate and energy datasets were made.

In June 2024, a major update to the greenhouse gas concentrations and radiative forcings were made. We now use the IPCC AR6 assessment method, updated to the newest data as in the Forster et al (2024) Indicators of Global Climate Change 2023 paper. Routine updates to the electricity statistics were made with the Statistical Review of World Energy. Additional works were added to the Suggested reading/listening/viewing section.
