쿠바의 한국인들 (한국어 번역본)

마르타 림김(Martha Lim Kim)이 남편인 쿠바의 역사학자 라울 루이스(Raúl R. Ruiz)와 함께 스페인어로 썼으며, 총 181쪽에 이른다. 마르타 림김은 쿠바에서 활동하였던 한인 독립운동가인 임천택(林千澤, 1903~1985)의 9남매 중 6번째로, 임천택이 1954년 2월에 발행한 『쿠바이민사』(태평양주보사)를 토대로 이 책을 저술하였다. 10년 동안 쿠바의 공공기록보존서 자료, 언론 기사, 초기 이민 후손자의 증언 등을 조사하여 정리한 뒤, 3년에 걸쳐 쿠바 한인이민사를 재구성하여 저술하고서 발간하였다. 2000년에 쿠바 문화부의 최고 학술출판상을 수상하였다.

Martha Lim Kim is a Korean descendant in Cuba and the co-author of Coreanosen Cuba [Koreans in Cuba], which was published in 2000 with her husband Mr.Raul Ruiz, a Cuban historian. Based on her father Im Cheon Taek (임천택)’s work on Korean Cuban history in 1954, they expanded the research further using data from public records, newspaper articles, and the testimony of Korean descendants in Cuba. Her talk will provide a rare opportunity to learn about the immigration history of Korean Cubans as she tells her own life stories as an early Korean descendant growing up in Cuba while the country went through its most turbulent historical event, the Cuban Revolution.
