This video is my story and it addresses the ways I have begun to understand the way race, racism and racial justice has largely been ignored by society in the United States until recently. Through my video, I explore sequential glimpses of biases captured throughout America’s history, which I have seen as a television/media viewer along with my children. Through these media images, I want to press that we should not continue to distance ourselves from the issues by ignoring the injustices seen from one generation to the next. In putting together my video, I have come to understand the ways storytelling can help people get a better sense of the experiences within the Black community, and inspire people to hopefully see that BIPOC communities still suffer from racism and neglect.
