Lesson 3 The Learner and Instructional Design

This lesson moves away from previous lesson’s concentration on organizational needs and turns our focus to the learner or end user. Once you get the business side squared away, it’s time to zero in on the needs of your audience. We’ll look at several examples showcasing different approaches to learning, motivation, and media.

Remember that while content, platform, compliance, tools, budget, organizational buy-in, etc. are all important, good eLearning designers always prioritize the learner experience: we need to capture their attention, engage them in the learning process, and motivate them to internalize and apply their new skills and knowledge.
