LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The University of Washington acknowledges the Coast Salish peoples of this land, the land which touches the shared waters of all tribes and bands within the Suquamish, Tulalip and Muckleshoot nations.

As students and faculty in Art Honors 2020-2021, we also recognize the need to express our gratitude to past, present, and future generations of Indigenous peoples for their ongoing stewardship of this cherished green land and its plentiful waters.

We honor the elders and the stewards of the community by learning about the longstanding history of this land and its peoples, and by building our own mindful understanding of the obligations and responsibilities each of us has in dismantling the colonial project.
