3 Orientation to Canvas

Canvas

Canvas is a “Learning Management System” (LMS): a digital platform that serves as the central hub for all block courses. Think of it as a virtual campus where each block (a.k.a. course) has its own dedicated space. In these spaces, you’ll find all the essential resources for the course including syllabi, lecture materials, assignments, Name Coach, and test grades. Students can download these materials, submit assignments electronically, and track their grades. It can also be used as a communication tool to interact with professors and classmates, either individually or in group discussions (although we don’t currently use it for this in Spokane). Essentially, it streamlines and organizes academic assignments and content, making it accessible from any device with internet access.

A written summary of the information covered in the Canvas orientation can be found here:

The material on Canvas is extensive and contains everything students need to excel in the course. To schedule a tour/demonstration of Canvas and learn about it’s full functionality, please email Charlie at  ccharm@uw.edu
