Educational Commitments

EarlyEdU strives to set up a learning environment that supports your wellbeing and provides access to the resources you need to be successful. In each of our courses we include the statements and policies listed below. Talk with your instructor if you have any questions or concerns about your ability to participate in course activities, discussions, and assignments.

EarlyEdU Accessibility Statement

EarlyEdU courses are designed to be accessible. Learners can request accommodations consistent with applicable law. In each EarlyEdU course you will find the following statement about access and accommodations. It should contain contact information relevant to your institution.

“We want you to have the best possible experience in this class. At the (your institution) we aim to create inclusive and accessible learning environments consistent with federal and state law. If you experience barriers, please contact (the department or person at your institution responsible for special accommodations) to discuss and address them. If you have already established accommodations with that office, please inform your instructor as soon as possible so we can discuss your needs in this course.”

Community resources and supports

Learners are encouraged to use available resources provided within their course environment. In addition to the department at your institution responsible for disability-related accommodations, there are other resources available to support your wellbeing and overall academic success. Your instructor may provide contact information for services available at your institution or in your community, such as:

  • Writing center
  • Counseling center/mental health resources
  • Programs for non-native English speakers
  • Library guides
  • Transportation services
  • Childcare services
  • Technology support services

Consider whether any of them may be helpful to you, and reach out to your instructor if you have needs that are not being met.
