PART 1: PROJECT SCOPE
TITLE:
Objectives to get you on the road
WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT (LESSON, MODULE, COURSE, PROGRAM)?
The scope of the project will be a course.
WHAT WILL YOU DESIGN, WHICH PART(S) DO YOU INTEND TO DEVELOP?
I plan to develop modules helping self-learners interested in building simple objectives for lesson plans
PART 2: BACKGROUND
PROBLEM STATEMENT/IDENTIFIED PERFORMANCE GAP:
Helping learners with financial barriers to formal learning environment or training, access a thorough course that helps them be better at building simple objectives.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES (STRATEGIC/ORGANIZATIONAL):
Learners will have the tools to grow skills in simple objective building for lesson plans
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Newer Instructors or those needing a refresher who need help building out simple objectives for lesson plans.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES (PARTICIPANT):
Once someone finishes the modules they will have:
Created an ABCD model objective
Created a SMART model objective
OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT (MEASUREMENT OF STRATEGIC AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES):
What types of activities, demonstrations, or tests will provide indicators/evidence of learners’ abilities?
I do plan to utilize other’s videos, quizzes also fill-in documents throughout the modules so that they can build their study guide. I also plan to vet some Facebook groups for learners to build community Q&As and access useful links and materials that will have materials to help them along the journey. I am hoping to demonstrate they have learned through creating building blocks to their ultimate study guide I’m not fully sure how I will be rolling this activity out yet.
I plan to determine the effectiveness in a few different ways:
● A summation survey is available at the end of the modules for learners to provide feedback.
● Final project
● Public portfolio able to access (still in demo phase)
PART 3: DESIGN APPROACH
HOW WILL THE COURSE OR PROGRAM BE STRUCTURED?
Format:
Asynchronous modules
Explanation of Format Choice:
These are self-learners and most likely working adults having them be able to access the material when they have the capacity means they can come to learn at any time they find available
Flow/Sequence of Lesson/Module/Course/Program:
I would like to have where each step correlates with a part of the study plan so that by the time they finish all the modules they will have finished their study plan and are on their way to learning.
Technologies/Approaches:
I do plan on having this modular so I will be using other websites, videos, and text along with other graphics and downloadable links to help them build the study guide.
Acquisition of Learner Needs/Interest Information:
Not sure how to answer just yet but I think looking at different forums such as Reddit, Facebook Groups, and LinkedIn I will be able to compile a list of needs for those who would be interested in this type of course.
6. Team:
It will just be me with the support of classmates and UW staff.
