“Women Redefining the Future: Remarkable Stories from the STEM Field” is a collection of real-life stories about women in our community paving their way through various fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This press book features inspiring stories from personal interviews and notes they’d like to share out to the community, from which are Kiesha Garrison, Nesly Acosta, Sarah Chan, Michelle Carey, and Elenore Falla. These narratives dive into the barriers, challenges, gender bias’s and even cultural differences many people have to face in an environment that’s constantly growing and changing. These remarkable women are making an impact in our community to inspire the next generation in a field where there are still barriers to break. They shed light on the personal and external impacts of navigating job transfers, relationships, family dynamics, and relocations within the field. They also highlight events and opportunities they take part in and outside of their jobs to build and grow communities in all aspects. The press book underscores the significance of community involvement and participation in outside events to broaden opportunities for women in STEM. These are more than just stories, but real-life experiences many go through trying to build their careers which are highlighted through academic articles contained within the book. Amplifying diverse voices and narratives, through sharing experiences and advice that they’ve experienced growing their own career is another way these amazing women are shedding light and opening up the field to the next generation of women.
