How to use this book

This online textbook is designed to support quiz section content in the course Human Physiology in Health and Disease (P BIO 375).

Everything you need to know to do well on a quiz section test is presented in class, in lecture videos, and in the lecture slides provided on the course canvas page.  This book allows you to read ahead, or to use as a reference after class.

Each quiz section topic is a “part” in this book.  The opening section of each part provides the learning objectives for that quiz section topic.  It is followed by chapters discussing different aspects of the topic.

Direct links to relevant chapters will be provided on the canvas page for each quiz section topic.  You can also navigate to different chapters via CONTENTS, the link at the top left.  When you have finished a section, scroll to the bottom and you should see a link for the next section inside a purple bar.

This book has been adapted from the course web page, but includes additional figures from outside sources.  When I have taken a figure from another source, that source will be indicated in bold in the figure legend.
