The Forests as Ecologically Functional

Forests make up a large part of the ecosystem, they also have a significant impact on the climate. Therefore, before understand the relationship between climate and ecology, it’s important to understand the role of forests as the background of ecology. That’s why our chapter is in the first part of this book.

The first section of this chapter talks about the mission of carbon, the process that how forests produce carbon  and store them, and some suggestions on carbon storage. In the second section, it will introduce the history of logging, the reasons for logging, and the effects of logging.
