Monsters Inc.
Introduction
In this Pressbook chapter you’ll get an overview of what monsters haunt the lives of people everyday. In this I will be talking about performance anxiety through football athletes. I will also be expressing the reason why athletes go through this and the solutions people took in order to change this problem for the better. I also want to state my personal experience with the problem as 1 have once gone through this problem as well. This monster of performance anxiety goes through the course of many athletes all over the world and it seems there’s a need for change. Athletes’ performance should be a top priority for change because of all the effects it comes with after that. Due to this it can cause injuries to not only the brain but to the physical body as well. A Lot of athletes don’t get to express themselves and the hurt that they have because coaches think that the more they practice the better the team will be. While this might be a good tactic if the quality of practice is poor then that could lead to negative contributions to the team. 30% of all male athletes struggle with this monster on a everyday basis so I can only imagine how many have this problem on my own team. This monster could lead to lack of motivation within the sport and cause athletes to give it up all together. The focus should be on improving this by helping out athletes through practice hours, rest, and more time to themselves which leads to healthier athletes mentally and physically.
Multiverse – Infographic
The original version of the genre came out when a marvel movie came out. It shows that there were three spider-mans that all looked alike and they didn’t know why. I choose this because I believe that my monster, which is performance anxiety, has a similar effect because there’s so many different versions of it. The different versions each have a different reason and a different disguise in the world we live in today. I think my target audience are people of my generation and younger generations. A younger generation will know the meaning behind the meme and the reasoning behind it. I think using the genre as a meme was effective because it’s quick and easy to read. By using less words and keeping the picture as original as possible allowed me to get across an even more powerful message. The only thing that I change about the graphic is the sensors on the faces of the characters. The reason for this is because I believe that our thoughts and the people around us get clouded by the meaning of performance anxiety and there’s multiple ways to see it. The more the character is blurred the more of the problem it is under the disguise. I thought this was a quick touch to add in order to have some meaning to the graphic. I also related this to the Neebo graphic because in the comic the meaning behind everything is clouded. In class we had a thought that maybe one of the characters changed into the other one because of his mindset. I explain this through the graphic by illustrating that the main claim and many other things can look the same and cause the same result. In this I exercised outcome two by using the two didn’t forms of media and connecting them together. Through this I found patterns across different platforms and executed ideas as well. I also used outcome three because of the meme I created. By using the meme I designed something that meant the expectations of the genre and kept it to its respected genre. I also added yoda to the equation for some great insight. I added him because he’s always a positive person and he has a funny way of saying things through his tone and choice of speech. This quote that he is saying in the infographic tells us that we should conquer our fears directly, if we do that they become less of a force and challenge.
