Sewing

Appropriate operation of a sewing machine is important throughout your P&O career. You will be sewing straps and modifying garments almost everyday.

Each sewing machine has its own unique characteristics. Consider the unique characteristics between theĀ  Juki and the Pfaff sewing machines, such as how to insert the needle, how to thread the needle, how to draw the bobbin thread, how to operate the pedal and how to recognize if the tension is off when sewing.

You should know the general terminology and how to thread the needle and the bobbin on both machines.

As you practice, aim for stitches that are equal distance from edge of material, reinforced at the beginning and end of section, no loose threads, and clean materials.
