The lab and classroom policies and procedures are located on canvas commons. The following is copied from part of the canvas commons Lab Policies and Procedures Module:
- BB804 After Hours Use Policies
- UW Lab Safety Manual
- Requirements for use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the MPO Curriculum
- Standard operating procedures (SOP) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- A standard operating procedure (SOP) is a set of step-by-step instructions to help workers carry out routine operations. The following SOPs have been created to achieve safety, efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and mistakes.
- A safety data sheet, or SDS, is a standardized document that contains occupational safety and health data. Below are example SDS for some of the common chemicals you will use while working on projects in the P&O lab. This OSHA3514-Hazard Communication Standard.pdf explains how to read and interpret SDS sheets. Please refer to the yellow SDS binder located in the P&O Lab (BB846) for SDS sheets for all chemicals currently located in the lab.
