1 E-Learning Proposal
Part 1: Project Scope
This will be an online module to teach management-related skills to folks who have recently been promoted to a management or leadership role. I intend to develop an interactive e-learning on this topic.
Part 2: Background
- Gap: There are often employees promoted to management due to the amount of years at the company or knowledge of the company, and not promoted due to leadership or management-related skills. This module will address this performance gap and help learners feel empowered in their new roles to approach it with confidence.
- Audience: New managers
- Training Goal:
- Learners will be able to identify their own strengths and areas for improvement when it comes to management roles
- Learners will be able to recognize good leadership and management practices
- Learners will be able to implement skills learned during training with practice opportunities
- Main Assessment: This will be measured by an assessment completed by direct reports, where they will communicate whether or not their manager has utilized skills from the e-learning
Part 3: Design Approach
- Format/Structure: There will be interactivity throughout the module – with short assessments, opportunities to submit practice skills for review, and more.
- Possible Technology: Articulate 360
Part 4: Implementation
- Context (where, when, how): This will be implemented once employees have been promoted to management, immediately. This could also be used for managers who are hired directly into the organization.
- Org Considerations: Cost, time, and SME involvement. SMEs will need to be active participants, so it will be key to find great representatives of management at the company.
