3 Work Plan
The second D in ADDIE is the development phase. During this phase, Instructional Designers use feedback and their content to start assembling all the pieces into a final product. I was able to create my final plan for my project using the work I had done so far in the program, and the feedback I had received from my instructors and peers.
Project Plan – Spring 2024
Topic & Goals:
Title: Factoring Polynomials-A Guided Review
Overview: A Canvas course where my 9th grade Algebra 1 students can review factoring polynomials after it has been taught and assessed in class. This is a major skill in Algebra 1 that my students often struggle with, so I wanted to create a way for them to continue reviewing and practicing this skill outside of class. The entire course will include five modules/lessons and a final course assessment.
Course Objectives:
- Students will factor polynomials by finding the greatest common factor of the terms
- Students will factor a trinomial in the form x2+bx+c
- Students will factor a trinomial in the form ax2+bx+c
- Students will factor special cases of polynomials such as perfect square trinomials and a difference of two squares
Platform/Technology: Canvas & Student Chromebooks
Project Scope: Prototype Module
Proposed Elements:
Each module will include:
- Challenging Task
- Instruction
- Practice Exercises
- Feedback
- Formative Assessment
This project will only include one completed module.
