Introduction to Evaluation

The Evaluation phase of the ADDIE model is reflected in the plan to assess the course at multiple levels, including learner reaction, knowledge gained, behavior change, and overall impact. Evaluation methods such as pre- and post-tests, scenario-based assessments, surveys, and HR observations help determine whether the course is effective and meeting its goals. This ensures continuous improvement and alignment with performance outcomes.

E-learning Goals

The Conducting Effective Interviews e-learning course is designed to equip managers with the tools and knowledge needed to conduct structured, behavior-based, and legally compliant interviews. The e-learning aims to promote consistent hiring practices, reduce legal risk, and enhance candidate experiences. Success will be measured through learners’ ability to apply best practices in branching scenarios and post-tests, observed behavior change in real interviews, and HR-tracked improvements in interview outcomes.

Kirkpatrick Levels

Level 1 Reaction: Learners will complete a post-course evaluation using ComplianceWire to provide feedback on course quality, relevance, interactivity, and overall satisfaction.

Level 2 Learning: Learners will take a required pre-test before the course and a summative post-test upon completion. Branching scenarios built in Articulate Storyline will reinforce learning through practice and immediate feedback.

Level 3 Behavior: HR will observe trained managers during real interviews 1–3 months post-course and use a structured checklist to assess application of behavioral interview practices.

Level 4 Results: HR will monitor improvements in interview quality through reduced compliance issues, improved candidate feedback, and fewer escalations to HR. These outcomes will help assess the course’s long-term impact on organizational hiring practices.

Assessment Techniques and Tools

The course integrates both formative and summative assessments to reinforce learning and measure effectiveness. Throughout the lesson prototype, learners engage with a branching scenario that simulates a real-world interview situation. This scenario is designed to provide immediate feedback and allow learners to apply behavioral interviewing concepts in a risk-free environment. A pre-test is delivered via ComplianceWire before the course begins to gauge baseline knowledge, and a post-test is embedded at the end of the course to confirm learning outcomes. These assessments focus on both declarative knowledge (e.g., understanding legal requirements) and procedural knowledge (e.g., applying behavioral interview techniques).

To assess behavioral change on the job, HR professionals will observe managers conducting actual interviews after course completion, using a structured checklist to evaluate key practices such as asking behavior-based questions and documenting responses appropriately. Additionally, a Level 1 evaluation survey will gather learner reactions related to course quality, relevance, and interactivity. The course is built in Articulate Storyline 360 and hosted in ComplianceWire, which enables tracking of completions, test results, and survey feedback. This multi-method approach ensures the training is not only engaging and informative, but also aligned with organizational goals for compliance and hiring excellence.
