Project Title: Helping your Parents Downsize with Care and Empathy
Project Description: This project focuses on creating a practical guide to help adult children support their aging parents through the downsizing process. The course focuses on logistical guidance such as organizing, planning, and communicating effectively.

Project Goals & Expectations:

• Give  learners with tools, resources, and knowledge to support downsizing decisions
• Foster confidence in planning and taking action independently
• Ensure assessments align with real-life applications
• Create tools that learners can continue using after course completion

Proposed Elements

I decided to focus on just one solid module for this project, and I’m thinking about it through a microlearning lens. Instead of trying to cover everything about downsizing, I want to keep it really focused and actionable. This module will guide learners through creating a personalized downsizing plan.

• One module, 4 lessons.
• Each lesson will have content and reflection questions.
• The last module will be a scenario-based assessment.
• Pre and post quiz as a confidence check.
• Job aids for post-course reference: A one-pager on “How to Talk to Your Parent About Downsizing,” A Checklist on how to get a house ready to sell. Checklist for state plan. Typical timeline for a downsize process.  A Key Contacts fill in sheet. “What success looks like” reflection
