After the Block (Course evaluation)
Now that the block is complete, it is time to submit grades and plan for any students who need remediation. In addition, it is time to assess, report on, and plan for the next iteration of the block. This phase takes about 3 months and includes reviewing the post-block reports, conducting the Lessons Learned process (the evaluation process), reporting back to students, and reporting to the Foundations Committee. This process sets the block up to start the Before the Block phase for the next iteration of the course.
The UW SOM governance committee that has oversight of all the curriculum in the Foundations Phase. They approve all major changes in Blocks including changes to BLOs, assessment, content shifts, thread and theme hours, and the overall approach to teaching.
