Professor Carrie Sturts Dossick, P.E. is a Professor of Construction Management and the Associate Dean of Research in the College of Built Environments, University of Washington. Dr. Dossick also holds an adjunct professor appointment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and is currently the Vice-Chair of the National BIM Standard -US Planning Committee. Dr. Dossick co-directs the Communication, Technology, and Organizational Practices lab in the Center for Education and Research in Construction (CERC).

Muhammad Abu Bakar Tariq is pursuing his PhD in the Built Environment program. His research interest lies in the integration of technologies like BIM and organizational management to improve the construction industry. He obtained his Masters in Construction Management from the University of Manchester UK with distinction and achieved 2nd prize in his cohort. Nisha Smith is a second-year Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) candidate at the University of Washington. She brings nearly a decade of experience as a residential and investment real estate broker, and is now expanding her expertise into commercial real estate, multifamily development, and urban planning. Nisha has a particular interest in mixed-use development, placemaking, and retail integration within multifamily housing with a focus on creating projects that are both financially sustainable and community-serving. She is an active participant in Puget Sound development circles and civic planning discussions, with a growing emphasis on bridging private-sector realities and public policy goals. Her current research explores how retail mandates in multifamily projects can better align with market conditions and long-term neighborhood vitality.
